3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS Install Guide

This step-by-step guide will demonstrate how to install 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS.

 

Hardware Requirements

Minimum

Processor:           4 Cores

RAM:                    16GB

Graphics Card: Must support OpenGL 3.1                              

1GB of Graphics Memory

 

Recommended

Processor:           6 Cores (intel i7-8700k)

RAM:                     32GB

Graphics Card:    Must support OpenGL 3.1                              

2GB of Graphics Memory

 

Software Requirements

Operating System: Windows 7 SP1 (x64)                                             

Windows 8.1 (x64)                                         

  Windows 10 (x64)  

 

Installation

 

Before installing, please make sure you have administrator privileges as these will be needed to install 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS.

1. Download 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS 

 

2. Close all open applications

 

3. Open the 3DXpert4SW_Installaion.exe 

 

4. Click 'Next' on the welcome pop up

 

 

5. Read the license agreement and, if you agree to the terms, select ‘I accept the terms of the license agreement’ and click 'Next'.

 

 

6. Change the destination folders to your preferred location (there is a performance benefit to saving to a SSD).

 

 

7. Click 'Install' on the Ready to Install dialog box.

 

 

8. When the installation is complete, click 'Finish' to exit the installation process.

 

Activating 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS

1. Open SOLIDWORKS and make sure the '3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS' add-in is checked.

 

2. Select the '3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS' button in the additive manufacture tab.

 

 

3. This should open a pop-up window, as shown below. Copy the request code and go to the My SOLIDWORKS webpage. This page requires you to log into My SOLIDWORKS

 

 

4. Paste the request code into the web page, then click 'Get My Code'.

 

 

5. Enter the Activation Code back into the Activation Code dialog box, and hit 'Next'.

 

 

6. The next dialog box will display your machine key; this is specific for each install. Click 'Copy' then click '3DXpert4SWActivation.3dsystems.com'. 

 

 

7. Fill in the details on the form on the web page - making sure that your email address is correct, as this will receive the license file.

 

 

8. Once completed and submitted, you should see the below confirmation:

 

 

9. The license email will come from DoNotReply@3dsystems.com. Once it arrives ,open it and click 'Get Activation File'.

 

 

10. Finally, a tick dialog box should then open. Click 'OK' and your 3DXpert for SOLIDWORKS will be activated.
